Bruce Appel Has Photos To Share With You

(Remember, the best way to view all of these posts is to click on the blue headline.)

For all of you who have been so supportive and encouraging to me, here is a way I can share some images of butterflies, orchids, stained glass, and the beautiful people I  see every day. I love looking at the world and catching a bit of it. I hope you enjoy what you see here. I believe I will be creating several categories so the organization should be pretty easy to follow. Enjoy.

As many of you know, I have been taking photos of butterflies for quite a while. Here is a beautiful Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly. I think I took these in Powell Garden just about an hour outside Kansas City.

Pipevine Swallowtail

And a few more wonderful butterflies…

Many of these were taken in the  Sophia Sachs Butterfly House in Chesterfield, Missouri; in the  Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, Colorado, and in gardens around Kansas City, Missouri. I am pretty confident about the identification of some of them. But many others are still unidentified by me. As I am able to identify them, I will correct and add the information here. You should be able to just click on any image to enlarge it and go to the slide show.

As I begin this blog, I will post a few photos from some of my other interests, but as time goes by I may just focus on one topic/category for each post.

For now, let’s take a peek at some orchids. Most of these were taken at the wonderful Missouri Botanical Garden in Saint Louis, Missouri. Others are from other exhibits and gardens I have visited. As I go through my photographs, I may be able to find information about the locations, but I may not have recorded that routinely in the past.

As with the butterflies, the diversity and beauty of orchids is awesome. So I hope you enjoy seeing some of these.  First some Cattleyas…

And a few Cymbidium…

And of course, some lovely Paphiopediulm…

So this is my first try at creating a photography blog. I hope you enjoy seeing what I have seen and marveled at. There is lots more to come, so just click on the “FOLLOW” button and you will get an email and link whenever  I post more. Of course, I am always interested in seeing what you are doing, so let me see your photos too.

I think this is a good start. I really like to read your comments. So let me know what you think.

Keep your eyes open and rejoice in the beauty around us.
